Allison Drieves, LCSW
Allison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She collaborates with clients to create an individualized plan, working together in a compassionate environment to better understand what they are experiencing with a focus on helping clients move through challenging times.
Allison has advanced certification in family and couples therapy from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She comes from a relational approach, placing particular emphasis on the impact that our relationships have on us and that our experiences have on our relationships. She has extensive experience working with individuals and families who are struggling with couples issues, parent-child relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, and parenting and co-parenting.
She joins AIP having had years of experience providing therapy to New York City school children and their families. While serving as the Clinical Director of Teen Programming for a not-for-profit agency in New York City, Allison oversaw the treatment of hundreds of teens and young adults on issues including peer relationships, navigating dating, bullying, gender and sexual identity, and relationship abuse. She has also trained and advised school administrators and teachers on these issues. In addition she has worked extensively with adolescents and adults who have been victims of trauma and abuse.
Allison holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Social Work from Syracuse University, and has had additional specialized training in treating trauma.
